TailTrack
TailTrack is a pet healthcare mobile application designed to help pet owners manage medical records, vaccination schedules, and daily pet care through a centralized, user-friendly experience.
Year :
2024
Industry :
Pet Healthcare
Client :
Concept Project
Project Duration :
10-12 weeks

🔹 PROBLEM STATEMENT :
Pet owners often struggle to keep track of their pets’ medical history, vaccination schedules, and daily care routines across scattered notes, clinic papers, and reminders. This lack of centralized visibility leads to missed vaccinations, poor health monitoring, and increased anxiety for pet parents.
Additionally, many existing pet care apps are either too feature-heavy or poorly structured, making it difficult for users to quickly access critical information when needed.

🔹 SOLUTION :
TailTrack was designed as a clean, mobile-first pet healthcare companion that centralizes medical records, vaccination reminders, and care insights into a single intuitive interface. The primary objective was to reduce cognitive load for pet owners while enabling quick access to critical health information.
Key features implemented:
• Centralized pet health dashboard for at-a-glance status
• Vaccination and medication reminder system
• Digital medical record storage and quick retrieval
• Timeline view for tracking pet health history
• Quick-action buttons for common tasks
• Clean card-based layout for improved scanability
• Friendly empty and error states for better guidance
• Responsive mobile-first design for on-the-go access
🔹 RESEARCH & DISCOVERY :
To understand user needs and pain points, I conducted structured UX research.
Key activities:
• User interviews with pet owners
• Competitive analysis of pet care apps
• User journey mapping
Key insights:
• Users needed quick access to vaccination timelines
• Medical records were often poorly organized
• Reminder systems were inconsistent in competitor apps

🔹 UX STRATEGY :
🔹 User Pain Points :
• Difficulty tracking vaccination schedules
• Scattered medical records
• Lack of timely reminders
• Overly complex pet care apps
🔹 INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE :
The app structure was organized into clear modules:
• Pet Profile
• Health Records
• Vaccination Tracker
• Reminders
• Care Tips
🔹 PRIMARY USER FLOW :
Primary flow optimized:
Add Pet → View Dashboard → Check Vaccinations → Set Reminder → Update Records
The flow was designed to minimize steps and support quick task completion.
🔹 WIREFRAMING :
I created low-fidelity wireframes to validate the app structure and user flows.
Focus areas:
• Simplifying primary navigation
• Prioritizing health information visibility
• Structuring reminder flows
• Ensuring mobile-first usability

🔹 CHALLENGE :
One of the key challenges was balancing emotional design with functional healthcare clarity. The interface needed to feel warm and friendly for pet owners while still presenting medical information in a structured and trustworthy way.
Another challenge was optimizing information density for small mobile screens while maintaining strong readability and quick access to critical actions.
🔹 SUMMARY :
"TailTrack delivers a structured and user-friendly mobile experience that simplifies pet healthcare management for modern pet owners. By combining thoughtful UX architecture, mobile-first design principles, and clear visual hierarchy, the solution improves how users track, manage, and stay proactive about their pets’ health.
This project demonstrates my ability to design empathetic, data-aware mobile experiences that balance usability, clarity, and real-world user needs.
